One of my favorite little traditions every October is putting together Boo Baskets for my kids. They light up every year when I surprise them with a bucket of Halloween goodies, and honestly, I think I have just as much fun putting them together as they do receiving them. It’s a simple way to make the season feel a little more magical. These are also so fun to put together for friends, cousins, or neighbors if you want to spread a little spooky cheer beyond your own home.
What is a Boo Basket?
A Boo Basket is basically a festive little gift basket filled with Halloween surprises. You can use a basket, a bucket, or even a trick-or-treat pail. Inside, add a mix of treats, small toys, and cozy fall goodies. It doesn’t have to be over the top—just a few thoughtful items are enough to make kids feel special.
How to Make a Boo Basket
Start by picking a container (my kids love when I use Halloween buckets they can later take trick-or-treating). Then fill it with a mix of seasonal goodies, age-appropriate toys, books, or even something cozy like socks or pajamas. I usually shop at the dollar store, Target dollar spot, or Amazon, to find affordable items that make the baskets feel full and festive.
