Some days it’s not just motherhood that feels like a lot, it’s life. The curveballs. The exhaustion. The mental load. The unexpected challenges. I’ve found myself needing strength not just to parent well, but just to get through the day in one piece.

If you’ve ever been there too, I want to remind you that you’re not alone. And even more importantly, you’re not doing this in your own strength. God’s Word reminds us over and over again that His strength is made perfect in our weakness.

Here are 15 Bible verses for strength I hold close when life feels too heavy. I hope these speak to your heart the way they have spoken to mine.

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

Psalm 46:1 (NLT)

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

It doesn’t say “sometimes” or “only when you have it together.” It says always. God is ready to help. That gives me comfort and peace.

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”

Joshua 1:9 (NLT)

This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Even when I don’t understand, I can trust. That trust brings a strength that’s deeper than what the world offers.

Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!

This one hits deep when joy feels far away. His joy, not mine, is where the strength comes from.

Psalm 73:26 (NLT)

My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.

It’s okay to be weak. This verse reminds me that God never fails, even when everything else feels like it is.

Isaiah 41:10 (NLT)

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

This is one of the Bible verses for strength that I’ve prayed over my children and over myself. A steady, beautiful promise.

Psalm 18:32 (NLT)

God arms me with strength, and he makes my way perfect.

On days when nothing seems to be going right, this verse reminds me that God is still in control. He strengthens and guides.

Deuteronomy 31:6 (NLT)

So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.

Exodus 15:2 (NLT)

The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him—my father’s God, and I will exalt him!

Psalm 29:11 (NLT)

The Lord gives his people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace.

This one is simple and powerful. He gives strength. He gives peace. Not just one or the other—both.
